Het Wachtkamer Orkest

The WachtkamerOrkest (Waiting Room Orchestra) has its roots in a jubilee concert given in honor of the 35th anniversary of the Frisian Youth Orchestra in February 2012. The orchestra consists of enthusiastic amateur string players, violin, viola, cello and double bass. Rehearsals take place in the waiting room of "Psychologists ordinance Eewal", Leeuwarden, which explains the name "Waiting Room Orchestra". La Pellegrina Project Orchestra

LP logo compactSince 1991 La Pellegrina organizes international music projects in the Czech Republic and other European countries. A group of well-trained and enthusiastic amateur musicians works for 7 to 10 days on a chamber music and orchestral programme, coached by Czech, Dutch and international lecturers, renowned specialists in their field. Approximately 65 % of the participants is Dutch; the rest literally comes from around the world. Meanwhile, it is a tradition to repeat the culmination concerts in Czechia or elsewhere later in the same year in the Netherlands. To this end, the Foundation La Pellegrina was created. This foundation aims to organizationally facilitate these concerts in the Netherlands. From time to time the Dutch participants of the summer courses meet in the Netherlands for other music projects al well, which then also take place under the name "La Pellegrina Project Choir & -Orchestra".
